850 T-5R was introduced in 1995. The 850 T-5R is powered by a 2.3 litre
5 cylinder turbocharged and intercooled engine that in standard format
produces 240 bhp @ 5.100 rpm. The T-5R was introduced in sedan and wagon
form. Volvo built this car as competitor for BMW's M3, Mercedes Benz'
C36 and Audi's S4
The 850 series Volvo became famous with its entry to the BTCC
Championship, where it was a revelation to see an 'estate' car racing -
and winning - against saloon cars from other prestigious marks - all of
which had a long history in Motorsport.
This particular T-5R was developed into a high performance version by
Mr-Sweden Motorsport in Germany.
